| So, I go to WWoHP next month (!) and I would really love it if I had some suggestions on what is totally awesome and what's not. So, I've you been, what's worth while? What really sucked? In between? Please and thank you! | |

It's all worth it. They didn't really overlook any details. Be sure to go everywhere, because if you skip something, a very amusing detail might be missed. Even go into the bathrooms! I accidentally skipped over Hagrid's Hut and didn't even find out that there was one until after I came home. Also, try to get there as early as possible. If you can see the park without the suffocating crowds, it's a truly enchanting experience. When I went last summer, the employees were all lively and interactive, but I heard from one of the other members of the site (I think it may have been DorkyBookworm? I'm not sure XD) that the employees aren't quite as friendly as they were at first. All the rides are awesome, and I recommend all of them. The wait to get into Ollivander's is always horribly long. It's only worth it if you get chosen. If you have a Harry Potter cloak or uniform, I recommend wearing it, because I think it really boosts your chances of getting picked to have your wand chosen (that's how I managed it XD). The actor in Ollivander's usually looks for someone who knows what they're doing, so you may feel silly wearing it at first, but it's worth it! The only thing that was a little disappointing were the few employees that really wanted nothing to do with the customers. A year ago, there was only about one or two of them, but as I mentioned before there are probably more now. I can't say I blame them; most of the park goers are quite rude and inconsiderate, but if you're nice and polite I'm sure they'll appreciate it! Sorry for such a long reply! I had a lot to say XD I hope you have loads of fun at the WWoHP next month!

| lol yea, I was gonna say that. It's all worth it. What I suggest is going to Ollivanders FIRST because there will be a HUGE line for it, and you really only need to see the show once, but it is a must see. Then I would go straight to the forbidden journey, because that is probably one of the best rides in the entire park, and there is always a huge line for it. If you want to go to the three broomsticks go when most people don't eat, so in other words avoid going around noon or around 5 because there will be a huge line, but if you can time your eating right there won't be any line!
Other than that, just as you are walking past the stores try to find a time when the lines are short. Also you can cut across stores. So like Zonko's and Honeydukes are connected, so if there is a long line for honeydukes, and only a few people waiting for zonko's, go in through zonko's look around then just walk through to honeydukes. Also the ollivanders store (not the show) and dervish and banges are connected, so if you just want to go to the store and not see the show go through the back way through dervish and banges, there will still be a pretty long line, but definitely shorter.
As for the Flight of the Hippogriff and the Dueling Dragons rides, they are both pretty good. Dueling Dragons is obviously MUCH better, and it only ever has a 5-15 minutes wait because everyone is standing around in awe of everything else, so make sure you get on that! As for Flight of the Hippogriff, not the best ride, but the sights as you wait in line are worth it, and as you go up the first hill you get an AMAZING view of Hogwarts, so I went on a couple times just to take a good picture! xP
OH! something I noticed last time I went, they added stalls in the middle of the walkways, and near the exit for forbidden journey so if you don't want to wait in line to buy a wand they have them in the stalls, and almost everything else you can find in the store at the front of Islands of Adventure, so still take a look around the stores for the atmosphere, but to avoid standing in line go to the store at the front of the park (i think the name is like the trading post or something like that, i can't remember)
and yea, it was me that said they are less friendly and enthusiastic than they were at first. But no worries about the long post, I did the same thing lol.

As everyone was saying, go to Ollivander's and the Forbidden Journey Ride first. My family and I got in an hour and a half early with passes from our hotel which made a HUGE difference- so if that's available, I suggest utilizing it. We were the second or third group in Ollivander's and the wait was only 20 min or so, which was insane compared to what it was later in the day. And our Forbidden Journey line was only 30 min or so. We went on a second time, but the ride broke down for 10 min in the middle of it. >.< But yeah, don't let the crowds frighten you and don't miss anything like I did! I have most of it to blame on my impatient family (aka my cousin and aunt and mom and their absolute hatred of crowds and anything to do with lines), but just don't miss anything or rush through it. Even standing in lines, how many times are you going to be standing outside of Honeydukes?
