My friend told me there's an AVPM production in Newtown, PA. not by Starkid, of course, but still, AVPM. Here's my chance at keeping this forum alive.

Anyway, it's this Thursday and Saturday (I don't know about Friday- she never told me if it was then)......... and it'll be interesting to see. Surely not as brilliant since it's not Starkid....

But still.

Are they allowed to? Like I know starkid doesn't have rights to it or anything, but if they are charging money for tickets then there could be issues with JKR's copyright...

But if they don't do it whilst breaking copyright, that could be cool. Obv, not as good as starkid, but it would be really cool to actually see it as a stage show, not on youtube.

Too bad I live on the opposite side of PA Sad

So I went this weekend (I also found out that it was Del Val Community College). And it was surprisingly okay. Voldemort was great- voice was spot on and all of his scenes were good because of, well, him. Ginny was pretty good. In general they had the voices down pretty good. However, Harry was tone deaf and it was just baaaad. He couldn't sing and Missing You was a complete disgrace. Neither him nor Quirrel could sing and it was very flat and there was no energy in Harry's parts. Get Back to Hogwarts was bleh. Ron was okay and they added a lot of dirty jokes for him. Malfoy was surprisingly good, as well as Goyle. Hermione was terrible, every one of her sentences was like a question and she looked a little awkward up on stage.

Over all it was okay, but the music and some of the characters were not very good. Not worthy of Starkid, but okay.

And yeah, they didn't charge tickets and it was in their cafeteria with a mobile stage that shook and creaked when they jumped up and down and stomped in "Get Back to Hogwarts".

Don't worry! Malfoy was a girl! I would have had a fit if he (she?) wasn't.
