Deathly Hallows Midnight Premier/Average Wizard Reunion!

I agree that we should do several things. Then people could choose what would be easier for them.

Anyone in the southern Texas area? Houston or Baytown, hopefully?

I went on Google Images and found a pic of the AW logo, so we have that. However, it's only 73x73, so that could be a potential problem. These are all such great ideas, and I'm even more excited for DH now. I'm pretty sure the singing of "It's Not Over Yet" was a story, fairly recently.

This is kind of off topic, but should someone post a story about this forum on AW? If it wasn't posted already of course.

I think the idea of bracelets and buttons are brilliant, and I really like the idea of flags. But, what I was worried about is that bracelets/pins would be hard to spot in the dark since it would be a midnight premiere. I was thinking of maybe color-cordinated glowsticks or perhaps glow-in-the-dark.

P.S. Any Wizarding families in the Miami, Florida area?

Well, in my area, we wait inside the mall (or theater) but I guess that depends where you're at.

The closest movie theater in my area is in an outdoor mall/shopping center. So, unless we're inside, it would be a bit difficult to spot bracelets outside in the night. :/

But, glowsticks could work too though, even if most cinemas are inside. It would easier to spot than bracelets because they glow, so...

That was a good point to bring up about movie theaters being dark. Maybe we should have a "code" of some sort? Just a thought, I don't know how well that would work. And yes, someone should draw the AW logo and post the link. That would work, because like I said before, the one I found is really tiny and would be a problem if we wanted to resize it.

The glowstick idea is brilliant. And yes, color coordinated would probably work best.

Ya, muggleborn_ maybe you should try and post a story, get more AWers aware of this forum. I found it from looking over the comments on that story about the DH premiere a little bit after it was posted, so maybe it was too late (by the time of the comment, most witches/wizards weren't paying attention to that story anymore?).

Yea I submitted a story on AW right after I made the site so that more people would know about it, but it didn't get published

I think the glowsticks could work added to the other stuff, at least that way if we can't find anyone before the movie if we see a glowstick during the movie we can find them after the movie.

Ya, the glowsticks is a great idea. And then hopefully if there are two or more AWers in the crowd they'll have seen each other and will be looking for one another. We should probably try to have uniform colors for the glowsticks.

I'm really happy this planning is months in advance, not like, November 6th or something.

I'll cross my fingers about the stories. I normally don't vote on submissions, but I'll keep my eyes out.

I've already started making a large button, painting it with AW on it in maroon (on either white or orange background)
They're really really easy to make out of soup can lids with a safety pin taped to the back, just paint them with acrylic paint (or glue paper on to it, whatever works.)
They're easy to spot, and if you do them bright enough (white or neon orange), easy enough to see even in a dark theatre. It's also not quite as awkward to glance at a badge someone's wearing then going around checking peoples wrists for bracelets.

Done the button! Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. I decided on an orange background.

I can't say that I have skills like Draco's, but here's my interpretation of AW's logo (even though it's technically not the logo, but might be more recognizable)
If anybody has line-editing software or photoshop then they could "clean it up" a bit, by all means. It was done in MS Paint very quickly...

Hey, that AW looks great. I actually like how it's not perfect, it fits. So that could be our "pin" and we just all print it out and tape it on our shirts or something- or as birdpatr explained how to make pins. Simple, easy, and it's bright enough so it'll stand out on Hogwarts Robes, for those AWers going all out. colon right parentheses

We have so many great ideas! Maybe we should have one mandatory one- I think the pins would work- and then if anyone feels like it, do the others. That way we'll be even more recognizable (glowsticks, bracelets, etc).

Since we'll already have a pin with the AW logo, why don't the signs have one Harry Potter related quote we all like and/or agree on?

These are some totally awesome ideas I hope to make a button and take some glowsticks! I hope to see some AWer's but I doubt it. Small town Ah well. It'll be fun.

Okay, so we have a lot of great ideas. I think the button/ printout idea will work. It won't interfere with costumes, yet it'll be more noticeable than bracelets. Although, I still want to make one.

And don't worry, I live in a small town too, really small. I think theres 2,000 something people in mine. I'll be going somewhere else because we don't have a theater and the one closer is awful (sticky floors, bad seats, disgusting bathroom, all around awful)
