Deathly Hallows Midnight Premier/Average Wizard Reunion!

I live in southern Indiana. Anyone else?!?! Is it really on a school night? I thought it was friday. :/

So, any Average Wizards in Phoenix, AZ?


Anyways, I'm totally going to do ALL the ideas, if I get a chance, you know. I still have to get my costume together- robes are expensive.

But I would absolutely LOVE to see an Average Wizard at the release.

I'm excited for this! I don't think there are any AWs in my area, but you never know! I'm gonna do the bracelet, pin, and probably try and get everyone to sing a rousing rendition of "Get Back To Hogwarts" (if anyone there is totally awesome).

I don't know any AWs in my area either, but I'm definitely gonna do everything you just said right there. And right after Harry kills Voldy, I'm gonna say " Well Chocolate Frogs, Harry Potter did it, y'all! "

yea I was thinking we could have another thread for that too, so we don't have to scroll through the 4 pages of this thread to find where people are.

I might not be able to go to the midnight showing because it's school the next day ( ), but count on it that I'll be going DIRCTLY after classes finish. Why couldn't it come out on the Friday night and not morning? I've never been to a midnight premiere, I do so want to go...

WHAT!!!! It comes out Friday morning?! NOOO!!!!! I thought that it was Saturday morning. D: crap. Stupid school. I'm already missing school one day for a concert. NOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no Idea how to make a duck tape bracelet either...

I posted how to make a duct tape bracelet in the Crafts section of the catch-all, for those of you who don't know how. I'm sure other people make them other ways, but that's how I've always made mine. Be careful about making them too big, though.

"I just made a duct tape bracelet in House colors for DH release (to spot my fellow AWs) and it was actually pretty fun, and I'll probably wear it a lot. I just took a piece of duct tape, folded it in half, and then took electrical tape and stuck that to the duct tape in even diagonal strips, then trimmed the extra. Once that was done, I took white out (although sharpie would work; mine was just kind of dark so I took a light color thing instead) and wrote my AW username and Average Wizard on it, then when it had dried, taped the two ends together with another piece of electrical tape. It sounds kind of funny but it looks pretty awesome."

I've read posts about people who are gonna say "Well chocolate frogs, Harry Potter did it y'all!" when Part 2 ends, but I'm thinking of saying:

We did it, we bashed them, wee Potter's the one,
And Voldy's gone moldy, so now let's have fun!

Since there's no Peeves in the movies.

And also, I've been thinking lately that maybe all of us can send a letter or email to WB asking for them to change the release date of DH to Friday. :/ I'm pretty sure they won't change it cause there's less than 100 days until DH Part 1, and they've already started promoting it, but they've changed the date for HBP before so perhaps they can for DH? (even though it was before promotion) And plus, they'd have made a lot more money on a Friday midnight release vs. a Thursday one. I know its a lot more complicated than just writing a letter/e-mail and saying "Hey! Deathly Hallows Part 1 is coming out on Friday instead!" but I've had that idea in my mind for a long time and felt that if I want to share it, I should soon, before it's like 2 days before release.

I really doubt they would change it, but that is a good idea. DH coming out on Thurs night is the reason I can't go to the premiere. I think it was the 20th at one point, but then they changed it. I forget, this was a while ago.

I think I am just going to make a big string bracelet with blue and bronze, and write Average Wizard <3 on it, because I feel like I would wear it more. I don't know if any of you know how to do those, but they are pretty simple you just need string.

I lovelovelove the ideas and I'm gonna use them ALL!

And also, does anybody live in South Carolina, preferably near Blythewood?

Ok, sorry to jump into this guitar-jammin' bandwagon so late in the conversation, but I think maybe something we could do is wear the Deathly Hallows symbol that Xenophilius Lovegood introduces to the gang. Because I think it suits the fact that it's the DH premiere. And I'm going to the midnight premiere but I'm also going later that night with (hopefully) seven of my friends (only two of which have actually read HP, but the more the merrier!). So if you're in New York (I feel uncomfortable saying the exact town though ), maybe look out for me. I'll be going all-out, thank you very much, so I'll stick out like a sore thumb. xD

To think that six years ago, the computers were all hogged up at the library with second graders because the new HP computer game was in, and suddenly, all the kids are dreaming of glitter-coated vampires. What's happening?
But I supopse that's a conversation for a different thread. My point is, even though we're trying to get all the AWs out there to show themselves, it's depressing thinking that hardly anyone in my town really cares anymore. Even still, I can't wait! In the meantime, I'll get started on my duct-tape bracelets (I'm making one for each of my seven friends that are tagging along- it's funny, they won't even know that I'm trying to spread the AW love through them! Teehee. )

Where I lived, Harry Potter was never a huge phase that everyone was all crazy about. I honestly thought that I was the only one who had read it and liked it. I guess that's why my all-out HP-obsession didn't come until later. I did see a senior or junior (not sure) wearing a HP shirt today- the same one who wore a Slytherin one last week.

But I love the idea of the Deathly Hallows symbol. I wanted to dress up completely- but I think I'll wait for the midnight showing of part 2 for that. I have to go after school that Friday, but I'll be sure to bring all my AW things. I'm planning on wearing a Muggle Born shirt I made.
